Today I am so grateful for the entire holiday season! I put
as much Christmas music on my iPod last night as I could. Now I can start
enjoying it. I love music, and especially Christmas music that gets you excited
and ready for the holidays or reminds you to be in the right spirit or
whatever. It’s awesome, especially for me, when I spend a lot of time sort of
in my own thoughts. I have time to listen on the subway, when I’m walking, in
my room as background. I love it.
I am also so thankful for the 610 Stompers. If you watched
any of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, I hope you remember what I’m talking
about. If not, they had a guest spot on “The Today Show” that I think you can
Google. It’ll give you a taste of how they performed at the parade. Pure gold.
Going along with the first thing I was grateful for today,
is just plain holiday spirit. Both Karene and I were getting stuff ready for our
dinners, and it was fun and new and improvised and it made me thankful for good
times with good people. I just stopped in the kitchen at one point and realized
how happy I was. I will miss Karene :(
But I’m hoping I will become good friends with my other roommates that
are moving in.
I went to Jenn’s for dinner number two, and right as I was
about to climb her stairs (she lives in a fifth-floor walk-up like me), I
realized I will start being thankful for elevators. Even if I have to wait for
them.
And of course I’m grateful for my family. I miss having
family time. I miss being so close. I never thought much of absence makes the
heart grow fonder, but I’m pretty sure it’s true. I can’t wait for all my
family to come visit this amazing city so I can show them all the reasons I love
it.
Happy T-gives!
