I feel like I’ve been awake forever. But I took an hour and a half nap this morning, from 8 to 9:30, so I haven’t actually been up forever.
On a happier note, I have paid two-thirds of my summer debts! Now I only owe $36.50. And who knows when I’ll see the loaner next ...
On a fantastic note, I bought my plane ticket home for Christmas! Yay me! I’ll be home for an entire month. As my friend said tonight, I’ve got all kinds of time.
Couple of quotes.
Margo: How do vampires do it? How do they sleep standing up? Don’t their feet hurt?
Eric [in response to an article about faculty going on strike]: That would be breaking news — if they struck.
Shakespeare professor [before starting lecture on “Richard III”]: It’s very cold in here today, sorry about that. I’ve alerted somebody, but NYU doesn’t really care if we sit here in the winter of our discontent.
When I went on the tour with “Wildman” Steve Brill in Central Park, we passed the swimming pool that Thomas had claimed was there. And now I believe him.
I read a lot of “Calvin and Hobbes” this summer at Dave’s because he has like three giant collections. And I decided that I really hope I have a son like Calvin. He’s so awesome, I love it.
And now time for SLEEP.
