One of the pilots on one of my flights back to New York was named Adam West. And nobody else laughed when the flight attendant said that.
Also, for the first time in my many travels :P I was scared to be on one of the planes coming back to New York. It was just a little guy, and kinda bumpy, and I didn’t know if it was ready to fly like the big planes. [And it wasn’t even the one from our little secret, Rebecca! It was the one before that!]
But it was pretty amazing flying into New York City at night. Manhattan is so sparkly! But I had to hold my breath as we went barely above the freeway coming in to land. Haha I didn’t know if we’d make it over that, either!
I was walking back to my building the other night and heard the crazy Asian homeless guy who doesn’t speak, just grunts/shouts and dances at passing cars. And I didn’t even realize I missed him until that moment. Haha.
I love that New York has bank ATM advertisements that say, “Turn left at the pigeon.”
On MLK day, I went with Ashley and April to a waffle and wassail party in Harlem. Then we had to wait for 20 minutes on the 1 train, cause it wasn’t running. Then the conductor came on to announce that the next stop was 96th street, and he said it 12 times, all in a row, really fast. That was funny. Then April said, “Wait, what’s the next stop?” And that was even funnier.
I’m really glad to be back and able to walk everywhere I need to be. Except coming home from the grocery store in the rain with a heavy bag. That was pretty lame.
What’s also pretty lame is young single adults. Mostly with their cell phones in church. Texting in sacrament. Not bringing scriptures cause they have an app for that. Showing up late every single week. Somebody should teach these kids how to behave.
More later.
