It’s official! I am here, I am well, I am still excited to be in the greatest city in the world. New York, New York! I love it.
I moved in today, which wasn’t bad; I guess because I didn’t have too much stuff. Met both of my roommates, got my ID and some free food. Also, I think I signed up for a Bible study group, but the guy said it was for an iPod! We’ll see… Had some good NY pizza, veggie kind. It had some broccoli on it. My friend’s sister talked about having that on pizza one time, and I thought it was way weird. Not so much anymore.
Margo [one of my roommates] and I went to an “ice cream social” for our building. They have some other fun stuff planned, too. She recommended I attend the U.S. Open if I can, so maybe I’ll check that out. Tomorrow I have a welcome assembly thing at Madison Square Garden. How freakin’ cool is that?! Sure beats the Sophia B. Clarke Theater, or whatever. Haha.
Yesterday it took us forever to find my building, and I was so tired last night, but I’m starting to get my bearings now, so all should be well.
We also saw the Naked Cowboy in Times Square, and he was hugging girls. And they were letting him. Gross! Also, saw Spiderman exiting the subway. I think he was on his way to Broadway, because there is now a “Spiderman” musical showing. Crazy!
All my stuff is still just sitting under my bed from this morning. I don’t want to put anything in my drawers until I get something to line them, cause we didn’t do that today, so I feel pretty useless. I’m not being very productive. And I keep forgetting that I’m going to have classes! GRRR!
The sorority and fraternities are housed in my building, so I’m thinking party 24/7 in the penthouse[s]. Maybe they’ll do something useful this semester, but I don’t know.
I guess that’s it for now. I’m trying to not be scared that I’m going to be alone in New York City. [Mom, don’t read that part].
More exciting adventures to report tomorrow, I’m sure.
